Brother Marty,

I agree with your approach to this subject. We are not robots, but to God be ALL THE GLORY for our eternal deliverance and for our timely deliverances. We are responsible for our actions, but if God leaves us to ourselves for a moment, even after we have been regenerated, we will deny Him as Peter did; we will act cowardly and allow our wife to be taken into another man's custody as did Abraham and Isaac; we will commit the terrible sins that David did, with Uriah and Bathsheba. Does God get the blame for these sins? NO! NO! They were wrong. They should have stayed close to God. They were severly chastised for their failures. But Who gets ALL  the glory for our obedience? Let us hear the inspired words of the apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:10, "But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me."

Realizing this, our daily prayer should be "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. . "

Our constant attitude should be the one recorded in 1 Corinthians 10:12, "Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall."

This attitude is beautifully expressed in verse 4 of Grace, ' Tis A Charming Sound, "Grace led my roving feet to tread the heav'n-ly road; And new supplies each hour I meet, while pressing on to God."

Brethren, I may be the worst sinner on FGF, but this is my experience. I need God every nanosecond of my existence. When I would do good, evil is always present with me. I try to obey the One who bought me with His precious blood, and then humbly thank Him for the grace He constantly gives me to enable me to obey. I am very weak inside and find myself praying the prayer that Paul prayed for the Ephesians in Ephesians 3:16, "That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man. . ."

God bless,

Brother Zack Guess
